Travel Day for the Derzaks

Just a few photos to get you started.
Departed Dulles Wednesday @ 7:02pm into London.
Lacrosse Stick flagged at Security as a weapon - Annie had to retreat to have it checked.
Arrive into London at 7:32 local time.
Connecting flight was in the same terminal - Yay.
Rested for a bit in the quiet area near gate A5.
Out of London at 11:45am into Athens.
Collected Lacrosse Stick in Athens at baggage claim.
Then we had to head back through security to catch our flight to Heraklion.
Abby was stopped at security with Lacrosse stick.  "What is this?" Abby replies "a lacrosse stick." "What is it for?" "Um, for lacrossse." "What is that?" "It's for sports, you know, to play." "Ah, what sport?" "Lacrosse!"  After consultation with 2 other security agents it was determined that the 14 year old and her deadly lax stick didn't actually pose a threat! We have determined that lacrosse is not a popular sport in Greece!
After being in transit for almost an entire day, we caught our second wind and headed out for dinner around 9:00pm.  So glad we did.  One of the best meals we have ever had.  Little beachfront tavern with fantastic food and impeccable service.  Run by 2 brothers that were great to chat with.  We were so impressed with both the service and food we would definitely make a point to visit them again!

Check out the picture of us on the escalator. So proud of the kids packing skills; those packs they are carrying are their ONLY luggage. 16 days of stuff for Abby, almost 6 weeks worth for CJ!
